THE COLLECTIVE
_. mootpoint is a collective based in Berlin started by Fanis Gioles, Anthoula Bourna and Anna Syrianou in 2019. Now they form the core team of the collective and work in the independent scene. Their work focuses on topics related to society, gender, body, memory and identity. The follow an interdisciplinary practice that includes besides the art production, curating and cultural management. Their projects incorporate performative elements, sound design and visual arts. That is why they work with an always expanding network of invited artists and researchers from different fields that provide their relevant expertise. Their diverse backgrounds and skills are organically integrated in the collective's interdisciplinary practice to deliver each unique piece. Their goal is to promote their and their network's work, and expand their outreach and network of cooperating artists and institutions.
THE CORE TEAM
FANIS GIOLES
Fanis is a sound artist that lives and works in Berlin. With a background in physics, classical percussion and multimedia composition and performance, he is the artistic director of the collective.
ANTHOULA BOURNA
Anthoula is a Set & Costume Designer and a painter. With a background in psychology and many years of experience in the theatre, she is a curator with focus on theatre and visual arts and is also responsible for the Artists' Network.
ANNA SYRIANOU
Anna is an architect and set designer. With a background in exhibition design and cultural management, she is a curator with focus on performance and installations and she is responsible for the public image of the collective.
